Trees, a poem written on the last inner cover of Yoon Dongju’s first manuscript notebook, “Unpoetic Poetry I Tried to Write.” The poem, which goes “When the trees dance, the wind blows, and when the trees are calm, the wind sleeps.” is concise and expresses the poet’s new perspective on the relationship between the wind and trees. Trees, wind, flowers, and other natural objects continue to appear as key images of Yoon Dongju’s poems.
