Biography:

Abdul Rahman Katanani is a Palestinian sculptor born in 1983 in Sabra refugee camp in Beirut, Lebanon. He is a third generation Palestinian refugee, whose grandparents left Yazour in Jaffa during the 1948 Palestinian exodus. Katanani's first works of art were political cartoons, inspired by Palestinian cartoonist and political critic Naji al-Ali. He received a Diploma and Masters of Fine Arts from the Lebanese University in Beirut. His artwork is made from materials sourced from within the camp, such as scrap metal and barbed wire. Katanani's work has been exhibited in multiple countries and has been featured in a French documentary called 'Le Lanceur de Pierres'. His piece 'With Her Nephew, Ahmad' is part of the permanent collection of Barjeel Art Foundation.
