Biography:
Abraham Hogenberg was a Flemish and German painter, engraver, and mapmaker. He was born in Cologne, Germany in 1578 and died in 1653. He is known for his portraits and topographical views as well as historical allegories. He also produced scenes of contemporary historical events. He collaborated with Abraham Ortelius on the Theatrum orbis terrarum and with his son Abraham and Georg Braun on the Civitates Orbis Terrarum. He is the author of the artwork 'View of Grodno' dated 1618.
