Biography:
Abraham Fisher was an English violinist and composer born in Dunstable in 1744. He was brought up in Lord Tyrawley's house and learned the violin from Thomas Pinto. He made his debut at the King's Theatre in 1763 and became a member of the Royal Society of Musicians the following year. Fisher matriculated at Magdalen College, Oxford in 1777 and received his Bac. and Doc. Mus. degrees. He is best known for his theatrical music, but also composed sacred music. Fisher died in London in May or June 1806.
