Biography:
Abrasha Lozoff, also known as Abraham Lozoff, was a Russian-born sculptor who was born in Siberia, Russia in 1887. He moved to Riga, Latvia during his childhood and remained there until 1914. He then immigrated to the USA, and then to Canada, where he lived for many years and became a Canadian citizen. Lozoff is known for his extraordinary woodcarvings, which combine the disparate influences of Grinling Gibbons and Gauguin. He died in London, England in 1936.
