Abraham Van Blijenberch was married in 1615 and became a citizen of Antwerp in 1617, although there is no record of him joining the Guild of Saint Luke, the Antwerp guild of painters.

Early Career and Influences

worked in London from 1617 to 1622, where he painted portraits of prominent members of the court of James I, including Prince Charles, later Charles I of England, and William Drummond of Hawthornden. His work was influenced by Daniel Mijtens, a renowned painter of that time. During his stay in London, Abraham Van Blijenberch also produced designs for the Mortlake Tapestry Works.
