Adrien Henri Vital Van Emelen, also known as Adrien Henri Vital Emelen, was a Belgian painter born in Brussels in 1861 and died in 1932. He was a pupil of Jean-François Portaels and specialized in painting portraits and scenes of everyday life. He was also a professor at the Académie Royale des Beaux-Arts in Brussels. His works are characterized by their bright colors and attention to detail. Some of his most famous paintings include 'La Fiancée', 'La Liseuse' and 'Le Jardinier'. He was a member of the Société des Beaux-Arts de Bruxelles and exhibited his works in various salons and exhibitions in Belgium and abroad.
