Biography:

Samuel Ajobiewe is a Nigerian artist born in 1969 in Lagos. He is a painter and social critic who uses his art to fight against social and political injustices. He is also interested in documenting the daily realities of people and their cultures and traditions. He took a break from art for several years to take care of his health but returned to the scene in 2012. He had his first exhibition in thirteen years during the first quarter of 2023. Ajobiewe's work has been exhibited in several solo and group exhibitions in Nigeria and abroad. He is also a scholar and has given talks and lectures on art and culture. Ajobiewe's work is in several private and public collections, including the African Artists' Foundation, Lagos, and the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa, Cape Town.
