Alan Robert Garry was born in 1950 in New York City. He attended Stuyvesant High School and then Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where he received an architecture degree in 1972. After college, he pursued sculpture and painting, but eventually returned to architecture. He is known for his abstract and minimalist style, often incorporating geometric shapes and bold colors in his work. Garry has exhibited his art in various galleries and museums across the United States.
