Biography:
Alan Owen is a watercolor artist who began painting at the age of eleven. He was an indentured painter and decorator, traveling extensively before attending art school from 1944 to 1948. After his release from indentures, he joined the army. Alan Owen has been an active participant in the Qld ARIs sector since 1980 and has exhibited his work in various galleries. He is also a former lecturer at Queensland College of Art, Griffith University, and has taught interdisciplinary courses in printmaking, drawing, photography, and digital media. His studio experience encompasses printmaking, drawing, photography, and digital media. Alan Owen's work continues to reference social, cultural, and ecological concerns, especially those pertaining to architectural heritage and the natural environment.
