Biography:
Albertas Vaitiekus Žametas (1821-1877) was a Lithuanian painter and theater decorator. He was born in Vilnius, Lithuania, and studied painting at the Vilnius Institute of Nobles from 1837 to 1840. He then continued his studies at the Imperial Academy of Arts in Saint Petersburg, Russia from 1840 to 1847. He was known for his landscapes and was a member of the Vilnius Art Society. He died in Vilnius in 1877.
