Alessandro Maganza was an Italian painter of the late Renaissance and early Baroque period. He was born in Padua, Italy in 1556 and died in 1632. Maganza was a prominent painter in the Veneto region and is known for his frescoes and altarpieces. He was influenced by the Venetian school of painting and his works are characterized by their use of color and light. Maganza's most famous work is the frescoes in the Oratory of San Rocco in Padua, which he completed between 1536 and 1545. He also painted the altarpiece 'Madonna with Saints' for the main altar of the Oratory. Maganza's other notable works include the frescoes in the Scuola del Carmine at the church of the Carmine in Padua, and the altarpiece 'St. Mark in St. Jerome' for the Church of San Marco in San Girolamo in Vicenza.
