Biography:

Alexandros Vasmoulakis is a Greek artist born in Athens, Greece in 1980. He graduated from the Athens School of Fine Arts between 2002 and 2007. Alexandros Vasmoulakis is an eclectic artist whose street art plays a significant role in his polymorphic creative work: installations, paintings, drawings, collages punctuate his already dense and globally recognized artistic career. His murals reflect a double influence, combining metaphorical illustrations, calligraphy, and arabesques, reflecting the cultural crossroads of Greece between East and West. He is known for painting giant frescoes, mostly in Athens. His figurative work often represents people with disproportionate bodies and unique faces, sometimes distorted, which are characteristic of his style. There is a strong geometric dimension in his works, particularly in their triangular construction. Alexandros Vasmoulakis loves triangles, and this is evident in his art. Another singularity of his creations is the profound depth of the gaze of his characters. Their eyes convey something somber, evoking an indescribable ambiguous sensation in the viewer, between sadness and happy melancholy. This perception of uncertainty corresponds to the artist's intention to create ambiguity in those who view his works.
