Biography:

Alice Cattaneo is an Italian artist born in Milan in 1976. She studied at the Glasgow School of Art and the San Francisco Art Institute. After a stay in the USA, she returned to Milan, where she currently lives and works. Cattaneo's spatial interventions carry an idea of vulnerability through meticulous gestures that play out in a dimension between stasis and chaos. Her work has been exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions, including at Ikon Gallery in the UK, Centrale for contemporary art in Brussels, and Artsper. She has received recognition for her work, including a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film for 'Dear Rosie' in 1990.
