Biography:
Andrea Belloli was an Italian painter who became a subject of the Russian Empire. He studied at the Accademia di San Luca and gained recognition for his portraits and nude female paintings. In 1848, he moved to Saint Petersburg where he worked on decorating palaces and churches before focusing on portrait painting. Belloli was an academician in the class of portraits at the Russian Academy of Arts from 1861.
