Biography:
Andrea Malfatti was an Italian sculptor born in Mori, Italy in 1832 and died in Trente, Italy in 1917. He opened a marble sculpture workshop in Trento where he created the famous 'Fontana del Fauno Innamorato o del Bacchino' in 1864. He was known for his love for a young girl named Mariolina, who inspired many of his works. Malfatti is also known for his involvement in the Malfatti circles problem in geometry.
