Andrew Kudless is an artist and designer based in San Francisco, California. He was born in 1979. Kudless is the founder of the design practice MATSYS, which focuses on the intersection of architecture, art, and technology. He is also an Assistant Professor at the California College of the Arts, where he teaches courses in design, digital fabrication, and visual programming. Kudless has exhibited his work internationally, including at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and the Centre Pompidou in Paris. His work has been published in numerous design and architecture magazines, including Architectural Record, Domus, and Wired. Kudless is known for his use of digital tools and fabrication techniques to create intricate and complex forms. He has a particular interest in the relationship between digital and physical space, and how technology can be used to bridge the gap between the two. Kudless's work often explores the potential of digital fabrication to create new forms of architecture and design.
