Biography:

Anita Dube is an Indian contemporary artist whose work has been widely exhibited in India. She was born in Lucknow, India in 1958. Dube's training as an art historian at Baroda continues to influence her practice as a visual artist, as do her ties to the Indian Radical Painters' and Sculptors' Association, a group of contemporary artists formed in Baroda in 1987 that forged an explicitly radical, socially and politically conscious approach to art making. Dube is known for her conceptual language that valorizes the sculptural fragment as a bearer of personal and social memory. She has been involved in educating underprivileged children in Delhi, through workshops that provide opportunities for children to learn about arts and crafts. She also supports the Delhi Society for the Welfare of Special Children. In 2021, Passi raised funds for Covid Relief India by organising an online exhibition.
