Biography:

Neera was the pseudonym of Anna Maria Zuccari, a Milanese writer of the late nineteenth century. She was one of the most prolific and successful writers of late-nineteenth-century Italy, with a vast narrative production that includes novels, short stories, essays, and music sheets. Neera corresponded with the directors of journals such as Pungolo and Revue des Deux Mondes, defending her rights as a writer and the quality of her production. She is best known for her novel 'Un romanzo' (1876), published in the literary journal Il Gobbo. Neera died in 1918.
