Biography:

Annelisa Leinbach is a painter and illustrator based in Berlin, Germany. She was born in Phoenix, Arizona, USA in 1996. Leinbach's work is heavily inspired by nature and layered like sediments, reminiscent of the geologist and painter Per Kirkeby. She comes from a family of geologists and seeks a deeper connection to nature via an interplay between scientific rationalism and spiritual mysticism. Leinbach's art practice is also inspired by politics and she has attended the Summer school of the Sto Stiftung, working on projects like 'Future Maker/s-Future Market/s'. She is a recent graduate of Yale University and is working to build a career in art and UX design. Leinbach has exhibited her work in several solo and group shows, including at Art Aia - Creatives / In / Residence in Berlin and at the Google Arts & Culture platform. She has also traveled to India, Thailand, Nepal, and Mongolia for her art practice.
