Nino Caruso was an Italian artist, ceramist, designer, and writer born on April 19, 1928, in Tripoli, Libya. He was deported during World War II and his life changed when he was introduced to ceramics in Villa Massimo, Rome. Caruso became a prominent figure in 20th-century Italian ceramics, dealing with themes such as mythology and symbolism in his work. He was the author of the artwork 'Memoria di Sicilia' (1999), created in terracotta. Caruso passed away on January 19, 2017.
