Biography:
Antonio da Pandino, also known as Antonio da Pandino the Younger, was born in Pandino, Italy in 1428 and died in 1497. He was a nobleman and a Roman Catholic prelate. He studied law and since young age he was in friendship with Galeazzo Maria Sforza. In his young age Antonio da Pandino married an unknown woman that gave him four children. In his career he was a loyal diplomat in behalf of the house of Sforza, the rulers of the Duchy of Milan. In 1469 he was named lord of Pandino and in 1484 lord of Arcisate. In 1488 after the death of his brother the archbishop Giovanni he was selected as Archbishop of Milan. During his tenure as archbishop Antonio da Pandino left many of his pastoral duties as archbishop to the auxiliary bishops Giacomo de Bydgoszcza and Paolo da San Ginesio, but there are evidence that he did some pastoral works in his archdiocese. He was a master of stained glass and created many works in Milan and Pavia, including the stained glass window with St. Michael Weighing Souls (1480) in Milan.
