Biography:
Antonio Paglia was an Italian painter born in Brescia, Italy in 1680. He was the son of the Baroque painter Francesco Paglia and collaborated with his brother Angelo. Paglia traveled to Venice in 1714 to apprentice with Sebastiano Ricci and returned to Brescia by 1718. He specialized in painting altarpieces and religious frescoes, and is best known for his large decorative cycle for the parish church of Chiari. Paglia died in Brescia in 1747.
