Biography:
Araya Rasdjarmrearnsook is a Thai artist who works primarily with film and video. She was born in Trat, Thailand in 1957. She earned both a BFA and an MFA in graphic arts from Silpakorn University in Bangkok. She currently lives in Chiang Mai, Thailand. She is known for her perplexing and meditative works that explore the interactions between opposing but connected realms, such as life and death, human and animal, and conditioned and unconditioned. Her work has been exhibited in museums and galleries around the world, including the Guggenheim Museum, the Museum of Modern Art, and the Mori Art Museum.
