Biography:
Arun K S, also known as Arunkumar Shridhar Vaidya, was an Indian Army general born in Mumbai, India in 1926. He served as the 12th Chief of the Army Staff from 1983 to 1986. Following his retirement, he was assassinated in 1986 for his role in Operation Blue Star in 1984. He was awarded the Param Vishisht Seva Medal, Maha Vir Chakra & Bar, Ati Vishisht Seva Medal, and the Aide-de-Camp. He was married to Vijayalakshmi Vaidya and had two children, a son and a daughter.
