Biography:
Ashley Mackevicius is a photographer who discovered his passion for photography at the age of 15. He grew up in Melbourne and attended art school in the mid-1970s. After working as a freelance photographer, he moved to Sydney and gained a full-time job with Australian Consolidated Press in 1984. He later returned to freelance work and set up a studio in Balmain, specializing in food photography for various clients and purposes. Mackevicius won the Kodak Australian Photographer of the Year award in 1996. His photographs have been featured in numerous books, including 'Best Ever Family Food', 'Healthy Food for Families', 'Taste of Indochina', 'Australian Spas and Retreats', 'Favourite Food', 'Pass the Bowl', 'Cooking Seafood', 'Cooking Curries', and 'Little Taste of Morocco'.
