Astrid Tiits was an Estonian artist and portselanimaalija. She was born on June 16, 1907, in Tallinn, Estonia. Tiits was an autodidact in the arts, meaning she was self-taught. She worked as a portselanidekoraator at the Nikolai Langebrauni portselanitööstus, where she created many famous designs, including the 'Dragon' set. Her work is characterized by its Art Deco influence and use of gold and black colors. Tiits was known for her ability to understand the needs of her customers and to create designs that were both beautiful and functional. She continued to work as an artist until her death in 2005.
