The Badische Uhrenfabrik AG (Baduf) was a German watch and clock manufacturer based in Furtwangen, Germany. The company was founded in 1889 by the merger of three companies: Rombach, Ketterer and Leo Faller am Bach & Sohn. The company's products were sold worldwide and the company had its own branches in London, Milan, Zurich, Bombay and Hong Kong. In the early 1920s, the company employed 750 people and was one of the largest clock manufacturers in the Black Forest. The company's product range included wall clocks, cuckoo clocks, regulators, office clocks and kitchen clocks. In 1904, the company registered the trademark 'Akribie'. In the 1910s, the company produced freestanding clocks with a five-ball pendulum and a glass dome in Jugendstil style. In the 1920s, the company also started producing radio equipment, radio-controlled clocks, measuring instruments, loudspeakers, sound boxes, variometers and single and multi-tube radio receivers for shortwave reception. In 1932, the company went bankrupt and was taken over by Franz, Rudolf and Oskar Kaiser from Villingen. In 1983, the company went bankrupt again and was liquidated.
