Barbara Hoff is a Polish fashion designer, journalist, and cultural phenomenon. She was born in 1932 in Katowice, Poland. Hoff studied history of art at the Jagiellonian University. In 1954, she began working as a journalist for the weekly magazine 'Przekrój', where she wrote about fashion and designed her own projects. She also collaborated with other magazines and radio stations. Hoff started designing clothing collections in the 1970s, which were produced on a large scale. She founded the company 'Hoffland' and worked with several department stores. Hoff is known for her innovative designs and her ability to make fashion accessible to the masses during the communist era in Poland. She has also written books and created costumes for films.
