Biography:

Barbara Steinman is a Canadian artist known for her work in video and installation art. She began her career as an artist in Vancouver at the end of the 70s before moving to Montreal in 1980 where she gained international recognition with her sculptures and installations. Her works have been exhibited in various biennials, museums and galleries around the world. Steinman has also received several awards for her contributions to the arts including the Governor General's Award in Visual and Media Arts (2002) and the Prix Paul-Émile-Borduas (2022).
