Biography:

Bharti Prajapati is an accomplished artist who became a painter after leaving a decade-long career as a textile designer. She studied design at the National Institute of Design in Ahmedabad, India, and has exhibited her paintings in numerous solo and group shows in India and abroad. Prajapati frequently depicts women from the villages of India, whom she first encountered while studying at the National Institute of Design. Her work is characterized by bright, vivid colors and a reinterpretation of Indian folk art. Prajapati's art often explores themes of Krishna, Kabir, women, and their special connection to nature. She is also known for her use of mixed media and her ability to blend the fantastical with the familiar. Prajapati's art has been featured in various publications, including Artnet and the New Indian Express. She is also the founder and curator of Laasya Art Gallery in Palo Alto, California.
