Biography:
Boonmee Sangkhum is a Thai artist born in 1975 in Bangkok, Thailand. He is a graduate of the Department of Graphic Arts, Faculty of Painting Sculpture and Graphic Arts of Silpakorn University. Boonmee Sangkhum is known for his mezzotints, which are inspired by Buddhist philosophy. His works often depict monumental images of minuscule parts of nature, which he carefully observes and records. Boonmee Sangkhum has won several awards for his art, including the First Prize at the 8th Kochi International Triennial Exhibition of Prints in Japan in 2011 and the Grand Prize at the 3rd Bangkok Triennale International Print & Drawing Exhibition in 2012. His work has also been exhibited at the National Exhibition of Art in Thailand, where he won the 2nd Prize, Silver Medal Award in Prints in 2014 and 2018. Boonmee Sangkhum's art has also been featured in Google Arts & Culture and the Davidson Galleries.
