Bujin Hirai is a Japanese artist born in Gunma, Japan in 1964. He is known for his work in the art unit H et H, which he formed with Tadaaki Hyodo in 1989. The group was prominent in the 1990s, holding shows in Europe and inspiring by Fahrenheit 451, the sci-fi novel titled after the temperature at which book paper catches fire. Hirai's work often incorporates photography, installation, and technology. He has also worked with books and gold leaf in his 'f450 number book' series.
