Calyampudi Radhakrishna Rao, also known as Radha Krishna Naidu, was an Indian-born mathematician and statistician who spent most of his life in America. He was born on September 10, 1920, in Hoovina Hadagali, India, and died on August 22, 2023, in Buffalo, New York, USA. He was the eighth child in a family of ten. His father, C.D. Naidu, worked in the police department. Radhakrishna Rao was a renowned statistician who made significant contributions to various fields, including mathematics, statistics, and biology. He was awarded numerous honors, including the Padma Vibhushan, the National Medal of Science, the S. S. Bhatnagar Prize, and the Guy Medal. He was also a professor emeritus at Pennsylvania State University and Research Professor at the University at Buffalo.
