Biography:
Carlo Preda was an Italian painter born in Milan, Italy. He was the son of Andrea Preda and Bianca Bianchi. His first teacher was his uncle Federico Bianchi. Preda's early work is characterized by a rigid style, but he later developed a more expressive and sfumato technique. He was active in the city of Casale Monferrato and worked on several projects for the local church. Preda was also a member of the Accademia di S. Luca in Milan. His style is influenced by Filippo Abbiati, but he also shows a more personal approach to painting. Preda's work includes paintings such as 'Storie di s. Caterina' and 'Assunta e santi'. He died in 1729.
