The Casa da Moeda de Lisboa, also known as Casa da Moeda, Lisboa, is the National Mint of Portugal. It is the oldest industrial establishment in Portugal, with its origins dating back to the 13th century. The mint has been located in various places throughout its history, including near Santa Apolónia, near the Sé, in the Rua Nova, in the Rua da Calcetaria, and in the Rua de São Paulo. In 1941, it moved to its current location in the Av. António José de Almeida in Lisbon. The mint has played a significant role in the production of coins and currency for Portugal and its colonies throughout history. It is currently responsible for the production of coins and banknotes for the Bank of Portugal.
