Biography:

César Klein was a German Expressionist painter and designer, born on September 14, 1876, in Hamburg, Germany. He is best known as one of the founders of the November Group and the Arbeitsrat für Kunst. Klein was associated with the Düsseldorf school of painting and worked in various media, including lithographs, woodcuts, stained glass windows, mosaics, murals, easel art, architectural decoration, applied art, poster design, and theater and film design. He decorated the interior of the Marmorhaus cinema in Berlin in 1913 and was included in the Degenerate Art exhibition in 1937. Klein died on March 13, 1954, in Pansdorf near Lübeck.
