, a renowned English painter, was born on February 15, 1829, in Bristol, as the fifth son of Rev. Canon Knight, rector of Saint Michael's. He was educated by his father, who was a scholar, and the friend of the artists and literary men of Bristol.
After abandoning his career as a midshipman, Charles Parsons Knight pursued art studies under no formal master but honed his skills in the life school of the Bristol Academy. His initial works were scenic studies of Somerset and Devon, showcasing his early fascination with the sea.
Some of Knight's notable works include:
exhibited some 110 pictures in London, mostly views of the coast, noted for the drawing of waves, rigging, and hulls of ships, and for the study of cloud and light effects. His contributions to the world of art are a testament to his dedication and skill.
