Biography:

Irene Chou (Chinese: 周樂文; pinyin: Zhōu Lèwén; 1924 – 2011) was a Hong Kong-based artist known for her abstract paintings. She was born in Shanghai and studied art in China before moving to Hong Kong in 1949. In Hong Kong, she continued her art studies and began exhibiting her work in the 1960s. She was a member of the Election Committee of Hong Kong, 2021–2026. She was also a fellow of the American Physical Society (1998–2010). She passed away in 2011.
