Biography:
Christiaen Jansz. Dusart (1618–1683) was a Dutch painter. He was born in Haarlem and was a friend of Rembrandt. He lent him money in 1668 and took custody of his daughter Cornelia van Rijn. Christiaen Jansz. Dusart was a painter of genre scenes and portraits. He was also a printmaker and draughtsman. He was a member of the Haarlem Guild of St. Luke in 1641 and became a master in 1646. He was also a member of the Confrerie Pictura in The Hague in 1653. He was influenced by the work of Adriaen Brouwer and Adriaen van Ostade. He died in Haarlem in 1683.
