Biography:

Award-winning carver, Craig Koomeeta has been carving since he was 14 years old. His work has been included in a number of exhibitions including 'Story Place' in 2003 at the Queensland Art Gallery. He won the Wandjuk Marika Three Dimensional Memorial Prize at the 18th Telstra National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Awards in 2001. Koomeeta's work is inspired by his Wik-Alkan heritage, and he has been recognized for his contributions to Indigenous Australian art.
