Biography:
Taihō Shōkon (1691–1774) was a Japanese calligrapher and painter. He was born in Osaka and died in Kyoto. He was a master of the Hokushin Ittō-ryū Hyōhō school of martial arts. He was also known as Dapeng Zhengkun. He was a student of the Chinese monk Yinyuan Longqi (Ingen Ryuki) and was part of the Ōbaku Zen school. He was known for his bamboo paintings and calligraphy. He was a member of the Shinto religion.
