Biography:

Dhara Rivera is a multidisciplinary artist, born in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico, in 1952. She holds a BA in Liberal Arts from the University of Puerto Rico and a BFA in Sculpture from Pratt Institute, NY. Rivera attended the Whitney Museum Program for Young Artists in NY and continued her MFA Studies in Hunter College, NY. She is known for her work in sculpture, installation art, drawing, and ceramics. Rivera's art addresses environmental situations from different perspectives, interweaving social aspects and the historical context. She is also a professor and has participated in the Ecoartnetwork. Rivera's notable works include 'Maquinolandera', 'Minuflí Now', and 'Palingenesis'.
