Dickens Otieno is a Kenyan artist known for his large-scale woven metal sculptures. He was featured in the 2022 Kenyan Pavilion of the Venice Biennale. Born in Migori County, Western Kenya, to a tailor mother and a teacher father for deaf children, Otieno holds a degree in engineering but struggled to find work, leading him to discover street art and experiment with waste materials. He initially created sculptures from bottle caps before developing his signature style of weaving tin cans into metal armatures. Otieno's work has been showcased in various exhibitions, including solo shows at Circle Art Gallery in Nairobi and Steve Turner Gallery in Los Angeles.
