Biography:

Dilip Das Gupta, also known as Dilip Kumar Das-Gupta, was born in Chattogram, Bangladesh in 1942. He is a Bangladeshi banker and artist who has had a career spanning over 59 years and 186 days, making him the longest-serving bank credit manager in the world. He started his career with United Bank in 1963 and has worked as a credit manager throughout his entire career. In addition to his banking career, Das Gupta is also a painter and has had his work exhibited internationally. He has received recognition for his contributions to the banking industry, including being felicitated by the Commercial Bank of Ceylon in 2019. Das Gupta is also known for his work as a human rights activist and founder of the Manab Adhikar Sangram Samiti (MASS) in Assam, India. He was assassinated by SULFA in 1996.
