Doug Aitken is an American artist and filmmaker. Defying definitions of genre, he explores every medium, from film and installations to architectural interventions. He was born in Redondo Beach, California in 1968. He has received numerous awards and honors, including the International Prize at the Venice Biennale in 1999. His work has been exhibited in museums and galleries around the world.
