Biography:

Edgar Brierre, also known as Edgard Brierre, was a Haitian painter born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, in 1933. He is the older brother of the artist Murat Brierre. After attending primary school at Centre d'Apprentissage de St Martin and receiving private instruction from M. Darcet François, he became a tailor. Encouraged by Rigaud Benoit and his younger brother Murat, he enrolled in the Centre d'Art in early 1967. He passed away in the United States in 2022.
