Biography:

Edward Manteuffel-Szoege, also known as Edward Antoni Manteuffel-Szoege, was a Polish artist born in Rzeżyca, Poland in 1908. He competed in the art competitions at the 1936 Summer Olympics. After the outbreak of the Second World War, Manteuffel-Szoege was arrested by the NKVD and was unfortunately murdered by the Soviets in 1940. The Manteuffel family is an old and influential German Pomeranian noble family, which later also resided in Brandenburg, Prussia, Silesia, Mecklenburg, Poland, the Baltics and in Russia.
