Biography:
Edward John Hughes was a Canadian painter, known for his images of the land and sea in British Columbia. He was born in North Vancouver, Canada in 1913 and died in 2007. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts and was made an Officer of the Order of Canada in 1994. His work is held in numerous public collections, including the National Gallery of Canada, the Vancouver Art Gallery, and the Art Gallery of Ontario.
