Biography:

Elias Geyer was a German goldsmith born in Halle/Saale in 1560. He started his apprenticeship in Leipzig in 1572 with Adrian Schmal and became a journeyman in 1577-79 with Simon Kitzinger. In 1589, he became a master goldsmith. He was the Obermeister of the Leipzig guild in 1601-03 and 1616-18. Elias Geyer is known for his baroque-style goldsmith sculptures and objects, many of which are housed in the Green Vault in Dresden, Germany.
